BELISAMA

BELISAMA (Aestuarium), in Britain, mentioned by Ptolemy (2.3.2) as south of Morecambe (Morecame Bay), and, consequently, most probably the mouth of the Ribble, though Horsley identifies it with that of the Mersey.
