LUSSO´NIUM

LUSSO´NIUM (Λουσσόνιον), also called Lossunium, a town in Lower Pannonia, on the western bank of the Danube, a little to the north of the modern Paks. It was the station of a body of Dalmatian cavalry. (Ptol. 2.16.4; Not. Imp.; Itin. Ant. p. 254; Tab. Pent., where it is called Lusione.)
