SAVO

SAVO (Savone), a small river of Campania, which appears to have formed the boundary between that country and Latium, in the most extended sense of the term. It is a small and sluggish stream ( “piger Save,” Stat. Silv. 4.3. 66), flowing into the sea between Sinuessa and the mouth of the Vulturnus [p. 2.925]（Plin. Nat. 3.5. s. 9), and was crossed by the Appian Way, a few miles from its mouth, by a bridge called the Pons Campanus, from its forming the frontier of that country.
