--We learn that yesterday morning several members of Capt Smith's company, belonging to Col. McKinstry's regiment, left their camp a short distance, and in the woods found a bottle, which they supposed contained whisky. They drank freely of it, and brought it into camp and gave some to the Sergeant of the company. In all there were five men who drank a portion of the contents of the bottle. In an hour or two all five of the man died.

The bottle contained several kinds of roots and herbs, but it is not positively known what they were, except that there was quite a quantity of yellow jessamine in it.

It is the belief in camp that some one had mixed himself up a bottle of medicine which should have been taken in small quantities, but the unfortunate mad had taken an over-doze--Mobile Tribune, 29th.
