ἔμβι^-ος , ον,
A.having life, [“Ζηνὸς] ἐργαζομένου ἔμβια τὰ ὑπὸ τῷ αἰθέριPhilostr.Her.2.19; tenacious of life, established, of trees which will bear transplanting, Thphr.CP5.6.5; of cuttings, ib.3.5.3 (Comp.); but εἰ σπέρμα . γένοιτο if the seed should germinate, ib.5.4.5, cf.
