The modern Calvi; the chief town of the Caleni, an Ausonian people in Campania, on the Via Latina, said to have been founded by

Coin of Cales.

Calaïs, son of Boreas, and therefore called Threïcia by the poets. It was celebrated for its excellent wine. See Vinum.
