جَوٍ جو part. n. of 1, q. v.; (S, K;) and ↓ جَوًى signifies the same, being an inf. n. used as an epithet. (K.) ― -b2- Hence, (S,) the former, (S, K,) as also ↓ the latter, (K, and so in a copy of the S,) signifies Stinking water; (K;) or water that has become altered and stinking. (S, TA.) ― -b3- أَرْضٌ جَوِيَةٌ and ↓ جَوِيَّةٌ A land that disagrees with one. (K.)
