Daring

--Yesterday morning an officer having business in one of the Departments, tied his horse to a rack near by and left him for a few minutes. He had scarcely turned his back, when a young man, genteelly dressed, stepped up, mounted the animal, and rode off. The officer, on missing his horse, started in pursuit of the thief, and with the aid of a lad traced him to the south side of the basin, where he found the horse tied to a post, but the rider had disappeared. Some of the police were given a description of the man, and may yet discover him.
