Stealing money.

--Braxton, a negro belonging to Maria Howe, was arraigned before the Recorder yesterday, charged with stealing $190 in Confederate money from Belvin & Atkinson, on Friday last. The evidence proved that Braxton was in the employ of this firm and had received the money in payment for furniture purchased from them Braxton had exhibited to another negro on Sunday morning last a large roll of notes, among which were five $20 notes; and Messrs. B. & A. having last the amount mentioned above, suspected this was their money, and therefore accused Braxton of taking it. He acknowledged his guilt, and was committed to jail for trial, before the next term of the Hustings Court.
