The water works.

--An accident occurred recently at the Pump-House, by which one of the shafts were broken; but notwithstanding this fact, the supply of water to the city has not been diminished, the hands having been in the meantime kept at work day and night. We are informed that, through the energy of Mr. J. P. Tyler, the superintendent of the Pump-House, the damage will soon be repaired, and everything be working as usual.
