οὐ σιωπήσας ἔσει; = a fut. perfect,—at once, or once for all; Dem. 4.50 “τὰ δέοντα ἐσόμεθα ἐγνωκότες καὶ λόγων ματαίων ἀπηλλαγμένοι.” So Soph. Ant. 1067 “ἀντιδοὺς ἔσει,” Soph. OC 816 “λυπηθεὶς ἔσει.” The situation shows that this is not an “aside. ” The θεράπων, while really terrified, could affect to resent the assertion that his master had been a foundling.
