--The ladies and gentlemen composing the choirs of the several Baptist Churches in the city, and others specially invited, are holding meetings every Tuesday evening, in the Second Baptist Church, for the purpose of preparing a series of Concerts, the proceeds of which will be appropriated to the benefit of the needy soldier. Interesting recitals are held at the above church. In a few weeks the series of Concerts will commence, when due announcement will be made. The benevolent purposes prompting this move on the part of the amateurs of the city, as well as the talents of the selected performers, should ensure large, constant, and appreciative audiences.
