BOBADELA Beira Litoral, Portugal.

Near Oliveira do Hospital. Neither the geographers of antiquity nor the Antonine Itinerary mentions this village, but three stone inscriptions which record three flamines attest its importance. An arch is preserved which seems to be an entrance to a forum or sacred enclosure rather than a gate in the fortifications or a support for an aqueduct as some authors suggest. A monumental inscription (NEPTUNALE) seems to indicate the existence of a Temple of Neptune.
