LIBNATH
LIBNATH (
Λεβνά,
Λοβνά), generally mentioned in connection with Lachish, from which it could not be far distant [LACHISIH]. (
Josh. 10.29--32; 2
Kings, 19.8.)
It belonged to Judah (
Josh. 15.42), and is recognised by Eusebius as a village in the district of Eleutheropolis. (
Onomast. s. v. Λοβανά.) Dr. Robinson could not succeed in recovering any traces of its name or site (
Bib. Res. vol. ii. p. 389).
