NYSA

NYSA (Νῦσα). In Europe.

A village in Boeotia on Mt. Helicon. (Strab. ix. p.405; Steph. B. s. v. Νῦσαι.

A town in Thrace, in the district between the rivers Strymon and Nestus, which subsequently formed part of Macedonia. It is called Nyssos by Pliny. (Steph. B. sub voce Plin. Nat. 4.10. s. 17.) [p. 2.457]
