MELIBOCUS

MELIBOCUS (τὸ Μηλίβοκον ὄρος), a mountain in the interior of Germany, above the Semanus Silva. (Ptol. 2.11.7.) There can be little doubt that Melibocus is the ancient name for the Harz mountain, or the Thüringer wald, or for both.
