Celtic and Teutonic warfare.
--
Elizabeth O'Brien appeared before the
Mayor yesterday to answer the charge of threatening to take the lives of
John H. Shoof, his wife, and child.
It appeared that the parties dwelt under the same roof, and that constant rows disturbed the peace of Shoof; that
Mrs. O B. attacks them whenever she sees them, and threatens to ‘"tear their heads all to pieces."’ On one occasion, 'twas stated, a pistol was shown, and a purpose ‘ "to fix"’ the Shoofs was made known.
The case was made out to the
Mayor's satisfaction, and the usual surely closed the transaction.
When neighbors thus fall out and quarrel, it's proper to deduce a moral: Let one ‘"secede"’ and leave the other without this useless legal bother.
