--John S. Pride and Michael S. Gleason, charged with shooting a negro named Jesse, slave of Coleman S. Dodson, appeared before the Mayor yesterday.
A question of jurisdiction having been raised, the investigation was postponed until Wednesday next.
The affair occurred some weeks ago in the neighborhood of the fortifications, and the facts were duly noted at the time.
