Small arms and Artillery.

--In the Legislature of Virginia a bill was introduced some days ago making an appropriation for the purchase of small arms, artillery, &c. The bill was amended so as to strike out artillery, but it is now under reconsideration so as to include artillery, and, it is said, will pass in that shape. It is certain, however, that a large appropriation will be made for the purchase from our citizens, for the use of the State, of all kinds of small arms which are private property. The arms so purchased, together with the State arms now being collected under an act of the Legislature recently passed, will be received at the Ordnance Department of Virginia.
