Despairing of his Death.

--The Washington correspondent of the New York Post says:

‘ The Supreme Court is still in the hands of pro slavery men, and promises to be for some time to come. Judge Taney continues in excellent health, and will yet outlive half the judges who sit with him. His vigor is wonderful in one so very old.--He is in sounder health to day then he was ten years ago.

Judge Taney was born in 1776, the year American independence was dedicated, and is, therefore, eighty-six years old. He has been on the bench twenty-six years, been appointed in 1836.
