BERZOBIS (Berzovia) Caraş-Severin, Romania.

Roman camp and civil settlement on the Lederata-Tibiscum imperial road, on the left bank of Bîrzava river. The name appears in the Peutinger Table and in Priscianus (Gram. lat. 6.13), the only extant fragment of Trajans commentary on the Dacian wars.

The camp (410 x 490 m) has earth walls; ditches were built after the second Dacian war (105-106) by Legio IV Flavia Felix and used probably until the time of Hadrian. The N and S sides of the camp are well preserved.

Ceramics, stamped tiles, coins, etc., are on display at the Banat Museum in Timişoara and the museum in Reşiţa.
