SECUNDENSES

those who dwelt in a certain locality (cf. PARIANENSES, CICINENSES), probably on the Esquiline in Region III near the Sicinium (S. Maria Maggiore). The name occurs in a fragmentary inscription containing an edict of Tarracius Bassus, prefect of the city shortly after 368 A.D. (NS 1899, 335 ; Klio ii. 270; HJ 338; cf. BC 1891, 345).
