CO´TINAE (
αἱ Κωτίναι), a town of Hispania Baetica, famous for its mines of copper mixt with gold, lay somewhere in the range of mountains which border the valley of the Baetis on the N. (
Strab. iii. p.142.)
There seems no sufficient ground for the conjecture of Vossius (
ad Mel. 3.1), identifying it with
OLEASTRUM [
