HO´SSII

Eth. HO´SSII, O´SSI (Eth. Ὅσσιοι, Ptol. 3.5.22), a people of Sarmatia Europaea, who occupied the E. coasts of the Baltic--Esthonia and the island of Oesel, and belonged to the Finnish stock. (Schafarik. Slav. Alt. vol. i. pp. 298, 302.)
