HYANTES

Eth. HYANTES (Ὕαντες), are mentioned among the aboriginal inhabitants of Boeotia, who were driven out of this country by the Cadmeians, whereupon they founded the town of Hyampolis in Phocis. (Paus. 9.5.1, 9.35.5; Strab. vii. p.321, ix. pp. 401, 424, x. p. 464.)
