MILEUM

MILEUM a Roman “colonia” ( “Mileu colonia” Pent. Tab.) in Numidia, which the Antonine Itinerary places at 25 M. P. from Cirta. There can be little doubt that this place, which, from the circumstance of two councils having been held there, was of some importance (Morcelli, Africa Christiana, vol. i. p. 228), was the same as MIREUM (Μίρεον al. Μύραιον, Ptol. 4.3.28).
