RUNICATAE

RUNICATAE (Ῥουνικᾶται), an Alpine tribe in the north-east of Vindelicia between the Oenus and Danubius. (Ptol. 2.13.1.) In the inscription of the Alpine trophy quoted by Pliny (3.24) they are called Rucinates.
