SARANGA
SARANGA (
τὰ Σάραγγα), a small place on the coast of Gedrosia between the Indus and the Arabis.
It was visited by Nearchus in his coast voyage to Persia (
Arrian Ind. chap. 22).
It has been conjectured by Miller (
Geogr. Graec. Min. l.c., ed. Paris) that it is the same as the
Ῥιζάνα of Ptolemy (
6.21.2).
