Strab. iii. p.160, iv. p. 178), a trophy or monument erected by Pompey on the summit of the Pyrenees, recording the subjugation of 876 Spanish cities. (
Plin. Nat. 3.3. s. 4,
4.7. s. 27, 37.2. s. 6.)
It stood at the spot named Summum Pyrenaeum in the
Itin. Ant. (p. 397), and according to some on the boundary between Gaul and Spain.
