County Court.
--The
Court on Saturday proceeded to consider what action was necessary in regard to the office of Commissioner of the Revenue for the upper district of Henrico county, held by
Wm. L. Lawton.
For reasons deemed sufficient, and
Mr. Lawton having failed to quality in time, the
Court declared the office vacant, and ordered a writ of election for the 4th day of February next.
John A Eacho renewed his bond as
Commissioner of the Revenue for the lower district.
A writ of election was ordered to supply vacancies occasioned by the removal from the district of two magistrates,
Dr. Poindexter and
Dr. Williams.
The case of
Mr Botts' horse "Engineer" was up again on Saturday, and considerable time occupied in arguing a bill of exceptions.
