Fatal fall

--Yesterday afternoon Mr. Wm. H. Martin, a well-known master builder of this city, while working upon some portion of the new building of Mr. Haxall, at the corner of 6th and Grace streets, fell a distance of about twelve feet, from one of the windows to the pavement below, fracturing his skull and breaking one of his hips, from the effects of which death almost instantly ensued. Considering the height, or distance, of the fall, the result seems to us really remarkable. Mr. Martin was a worthy man and good citizen, and leaves an interesting family to mourn his sad fate.
