The Otey Battery.

Headquarters Otey Battery, Camp Juynes, near Dublin Depot, April 19, 1862.,
Here we are in the tented fields, enjoying ourselves amazingly, and supposing our friends at home would like to know it, through the medium of your journal we drop a line.

Leaving Camp Lee at an early hour on Sunday morning, last, we marched to the Dunsville depot, where we embarked for this point. Nothing of interest occurred to our pleasure or increase on happiness. At Lynchburg we seemed to attract much attention. All behaved well, and rather surprised the good people of Lynch's Ferry, who have of late been used to the dreciations of Zouaves, Tigers, &c. Through the kindness of Colonel Thomas Jellis, the very excellent and efficient chief of transportation on the Virginia and Tennessee Railroad, the hospitalities of the depot were tendered and accepted.

We left Lynchburg Monday morning, and to the thoughtfulness of Superintendent we are indebted for a good bit of liberty, for kindly telegraphed the hotel keeper, Howitt, to prepare it for . The trip to Dublin was delightful, to most of the man the route was now and the scenery as we accepted the Allegha was much admired. All along the route that they Battery was cheered, and many a "God speed" given us. Arrived at Dublin, we were temporarily quartered in a large, roomy house by Major Brown, Quartermaster General of the New River District, a most, is and efficient officer. His whole business arrangements are like clock-work and are unknown around him. It rained for the first two days, are warmly go into camp and out of Dublin to-day. Brass Cannon.
