A Spirited lady.

--In Houston, Texas, recently, a man remarked before Mrs. T , the mother-in-law of Judge Terry, of California, that ‘"the South would be whipped." ’ The old lady sprang to her feet, ‘"Never, never!"’ said she. ‘"Before that time comes, I will volunteer and go to the war myself!"’
