From the Southwest.

Augusta, May 2.
--The Savannah Morning News, has a special dispatch from Mobile, dated yesterday, which states that Forts Jackson and St. Philip have fallen. Gen. Duncan is in New Orleans, on his parole.--The Federal flag has been hoisted over the Custom-House.

The Republican's Corinth correspondent, under date of the 30th, says that heavy skirmishing is going on between the outposts of the two armies. The enemy is slowly advancing.

The Chattanooga correspondent of the Chronicle and Sentinel, in his letter of the 30th, says that the Federals attacked the Confederates at Bridgeport on the 29th. The latter were falling back on Chattanooga. General Reynolds reports the enemy crossing the island at Bridgeport. While leaving the place a car ran over some of our troops, wounding several--two probably killed.

It is reported in Atlanta that a part of Gen. Mitchell's force was advancing from Ganter's Landing, in Rome.
