[47] And while they have an abundance of towns, inland and on the coast, as well as fruitful plains and valleys, yet the choicest cities are Geapolis and Nascos, [p. 377] Baraba, and also Nagara, Maephe, Taphra, and Dioscuris. 1 Moreover, in both seas, and near to the shore, there are many islands, which it is not worth while to enumerate. The most prominent among them is Turgana, 2 on which there is said to be a great temple of Serapis.
