[140] κυανέη: probably of κύανος, lapis lazuli, or the imitation of it made of glass stained with carbonate of copper; cf. Il. 11. 24 sqq., where its iridescence on Agamemnon's breastplate is described, κυάνεοι δὲ δράκοντεςἴρισσιν ἐοικότες.

ἑαῖς: = τεαῖς, see note to 1.1113.
