[for the Richmond Dispatch.]
Pierpont's confiscation

May deter patriotic citizens of Western Virginia from joining our army. To remedy this, let the Legislature pass laws declaring all sales under his confiscation null and void, the owners of land and other property still to retain their rights, and make Pierpont and every member of his bogus government personally, individually, jointly and severally liable for the value of the property so confiscated, with fifteen per cent. per annum damages, until the real owners are reimbursed. This would have the effect of indemnifying our loyal citizens, as well as deterring the bogus confiscators, and of preventing sales. A Citizen.
