[601] Ἄθω: the Homeric form is Ἀθόω, from Ἀθόως (Il. 14. 229). Another instance of the so-called Attic declension in Ap. is Τάλως, Τάλω (4. 1638, 1670); cf. also the form “ἄνεῳ,3. 503n. In Λεώδοκος (1. 119) the first element is the Attic λεώς, though Ap. always uses λαός as the noun, and in the comp. Λαοκόων (1. 192).
