[680] ἵνα μηδέ περ οὔνομα: this reminds one of the wish quoted by Cicero (e.g. Fam. vii 30) from some old poet “"evolem Ubi nec Pclopidarum nomen nec facta aut famam audiam."” Chalciope instils into Medea's mind the thought of flight from Colchis; so Anna fans the frantic passion of Dido in Aen. 4. 31 sqq.
