Monday, April 22d, 1861.
To-day the militia training commenced.
I understand the drill will be a very effectual one, as it is expected the militia will be called out, and they wish to be in as good order as possible.
Nothing has been yet heard from the fellows who broke jail yesterday morning.
Some companies passed here to-day, but as they did not halt, it was not ascertained what companies they were.
A part of our county Cavalry returned here to-day, by order of Major Patterson, to await their arms from Richmond.
Hope they may be hurried up. Pen.
