Remarkable coincidence.

The chapter of the Old Testament prescribed by the Episcopal Calendar to be read by the clergy on the morning of the third Sunday after Easter,(last Sunday,) is the 3d chapter of the Prophet Joel, beginning at the 9th verse. Every one who heard it in Richmond, last Sunday morning, must have been struck with the singular coincidence of the words with the solemn events of the day and time. It begins as follows:

‘ "Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare for war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
"Beat your plough shares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears: let the weak say I am strong."
