2 غيّف ذ , (O, K,) inf. n. تَغْيِيفٌ, (K,) He fled, or turned away and fled; and drew back, or drew back in fear; (O, K;) and was cowardly. (K.) You say, حَمَلَ فُلَانٌ فِى الحَرْبِ فَغَيَّفَ i. e.
