Charge of Theft.

--Emeline, slave to Dr. Roan, appeared before the Mayor yesterday to answer the charge of stealing two pillows and two blankets from S. D. Lewis, in the day time. Lewis testified that the girl entered the room through the window in his absence and took the blankets.

Dr. Lyne, the agent for the owner, had the case continued till to-day, to get a witness who would prove that the girl kept her things in Lewis's room, by his consent — that she slept in the same room with him — and that the pillows and blankets belonged to her.
