Ichnūsa

Ἰχνοῦσα). An ancient name of Sardinia, which it is said to have received from its likeness to a human foot (ἴχνος=vestigium) (Pausan. x. 17). It was also called Sandaliotis, from its resemblance to a sandal (σανδάλιον). See Sardinia.
