Philota

（Φιλώτα, φιλότις), or PHI'LOTIS, a woman of Epeirus, mother of CHAROPS the younger. She aided and seconded her son throughout in his cruelty and extortion, having quite thrown off her woman's nature, as Polybius and Diodorus tell us. (Plb. 32.21; Diod. Exc. de Virt. et Vit. p. 587.)

In the article on Soranus, we find: "at this present time (1848)" and this date seems to reflect the dates of works cited. 1873 - probably the printing date.
