CASTRA TRAIANA
(Sîmbotin) Dăieşlti, Vîlcea, Romania.
An agglomeration between Buridava and
Arutela (
Tab. Peut.). The civil center and the camp,
located on the limes Alutanus, are badly deteriorated by
the waters of the Olt river. Excavations have uncovered
the E wall of the camp for a length of 69.5 m. Dating
from the 3d c. A.D., this structure is built over a Dacian
agglomeration. The camp was equipped with an oven for
the reduction of ferrous ore.
