CTI´MENE or CYMENES

CTI´MENE (Κτιμένη), a town in Thessaly, on the borders of Dolopia and Phthia, near the lake Xynias. (Apollon. 1.67.) The town called Cymene in the present text of Livy (32.13) is probably a corruption of Ctimene. Stephanus B. mentions a tradition, that Ctimene had been given by Peleus to Phoenix (s. v. Κτιμένη). (Leake, Northern Greece, vol. iv. p. 517.)
