An arrival of refugees

A number of refugees reached this city Wednesday evening, having escaped from Maryland by the new route across Bull Run Among them is Mr. George Maynard, formerly of this city, now of California. He traveled overland by Utah and the Plains to St. Joseph and St. Louis. Thence, via the lakes, New York, Baltimore, and Bull Run. He had a dangerous journey, but got through rain, with a number of fellow-travelers from Maryland, who have come to enjoy the land of Dixie, and escape the thraldom of Lincoln misrule.
