Orib.4.2.4: in Att. this Verb is chiefly used in compds. with κατά and ἐξ: (cf. ἀραρίσκω):—like ἀρτύνω, arrange, prepare, make ready, of things requiring skill or cunning, e.g. of a smith, “τὰ δ᾽ ἤρτυε” Il.18.379; “σοὶ δὲ . . δόλον ἤρτυε” Od.11.439; “τῷδ᾽ ἤρτυεν . . ὄλεθρον” 16.448, cf. 20.242; “γάμον . . ἀρτύει” 4.771; “ἤρτυσαν τὴν ἐπιβουλήν” Hdt.1.12; “φόνον τινί” Plb.15.25.2.
