A very eloquent sermon was preached in St. Paul's Church on Sunday morning, by Rev. Mr. Slaughter, a Chaplain in the Confederate Army. His subject was the external and internal aspects of war. He drew a most touching picture of the sufferings of the inmates of hospitals. If there is any one department that needs the most thorough supervision, and the exercise of the highest skill and humanity, it is this.
